No is a song recorded and co-written by American singer and songwriter Meghan Trainor. The song was released on March 2016, as the lead single from the album Thank You.

No is written in the key of C♯ minor, but I put it in the key of A minor. Genre is dance-pop and R&B. The introduction is in slower tempo than the rest of the song and it has vintage influences that I love. Rap part belongs to refrain. So here we have two genres that I would never sucpect that they would be mixed together, ever. But that's not all. We also have verses  that remind me on popular songs of pop groups from about 10 – 20 years ago.

Kevin O'Donnell had an interview with Meghan. What they talked about is written on Entertainment weekly's website: »“[My label boss] L.A. Reid told me I didn’t have a single,” Trainor tells EW of her sessions. “He said I have an album of Nice Meghan and that I needed to be sassy. So I said, ‘I’m going to the studio to write you a smash!’” Trainor says it took little time to craft the song with hitmaker Ricky Reed. “I told my producer we needed a big eff-you song, an anthem about girl power that sounded like nothing on the album,” she says. “We wrote it that day.”«

Lyrically, song No is perfect for every girl who has problems with rejecting men. We all go to clubs with different reasons: to dance, to have fun with friends, to finde special someone,.. No matter what the reason is, every time there is at least one guy who is ready to approach you. For the guys... if a girl desn't give you a sign that she is interested, there are two possibilities, or she hasn't noticed you, or (more likely) she is not interested. So, don't be intrusive, have some self-respect. And for the girls, if you are not interested, there are many ways to reject him. If you want to be more original, you can sing him this song, I'm 100% sure that it would work. It would be even better, if you are not a good singer. Ok, let's get serious, no matter what approach you use, remember, that we all (even men) have hearts and feelings no matter how strong or weak they look.
