Marvin Gaye is a song by singer Charlie Puth. Song is also recorded, produced, and co-written by him. It was released on February 2015. Marvin Gaye topped the charts in many countries.

This song was on the radio all the time and the melody is so catchy that soon I started wondering whose it is. Charlie Puth began his music career with a help of YouTube. He probably got noticed for the first time after recording a cover of Adele's hit, Someone Like You. I think that have read somewhere that he even got invited to Ellen' show.

Trevor Anderson wrote on Billboard's website, what Charlie said (how he prsuaded Meghan or better say, how she prsuaded him to work together): »I was at this coffee place on Cahuenga [Boulevard] in Hollywood, and I just started tapping my foot and clapping along, and that's the drum beat on "Marvin Gaye." Meghan and I were at a party one night, and we were exchanging the new music, and she heard "Marvin Gaye" and asked, "Who else is singing on this? It should be a duet. Let me sing on it!" So I'm like … OK, Meghan Trainor just asked me to sing on my song, absolutely! In one day, she knew the whole thing. We did it all in one take.«

The song is simple and memorable, so I'm not surprised that she did it all in one take. To me, her vocal perticiparion in the song has a really nice touch. I like her voice colour. Song title, Marvin Gaye, is a reference to the soul singer. The lyrics are about someone that fell in love and (s)he is trying to spark romance. It gets a little more sexual than tipical love song. Just like Marvin Gaye's. My arrangement is in the key of D major. Song is originally in the key of E major. On piano it's mostly played with chords without using any arrpeggios.
